Certainly the best hope would be to acquire something like a Giant Strength belt or Gauntlets of Ogre Power. The biggest flaw in this build is the 14 Str, and I am not sure how to best approach that problem. My stat block for the character would be as follows: 14 Str, 16 Con, 10 Dex, 8 Int, 10 Wis, 16 ChaĪs a sorcerer, I would pick up Quickened Metamagic so that I could use the Aasimar trick and still cast a spell/attack with the the added damage on the same turn. I do wish that the ability said 'once per turn' instead of 'once on each of your turns', but it isn't a huge loss. In addition, I really like the ability to do extra radiant damage. Being able to heal your friend for a little bit is pretty nice too. The flavor of the Scourge Aasimar has that ideal written all over it. If you attack my friends, I will make you pay for it. So, I see the Stone Sorcerer as a protector, I also see the Stone Sorcerer as a punisher. Race: Scourge Aasimar Benefits: +1 Con, +2 Cha, Resist Radiant & Necrotic, 1-20 HP Heal / day, For 1 minute deal Level Radiant damage once per your turn when you hit an enemy with an attack or spell. If I ever get the chance, here is my plan for how to approach it: I am really excited about the Stone Sorcerer as well. Reading back through the post it seems like I more needed to talk things out to figure out the best plan, but even still, I'd like to hear all your thoughts. Being able to hit things better at nice, but probably not as much as more HP and AC If I go Mountain Dwarf, then at level 5 I'll be able to have one at 18 and one at 16. +1 Wisdom is nice, but not particularly important, and armor proficiency is useless since I'll be unarmored.Ĭontinuing from this, the decision to focus on Strength or Constitution. Mountain's +2 to Strength is very useful, but an extra hit point every level would help to make up for that d6 hit die. I plan on going dwarf, but I'm not 100% sure which type. But I probably won't be spending any other spell selections on damage spells that I'll only be decent with. I'll probably have a 14 Charisma, so I can at least be decent with Fire Bolt. If I focus on non-damage/save spells so that I don't need to worry about Charisma, am I losing too much of what the archetype gives? 2 of its features are damage-related, smites and stone's edge.

So I'm considering building a stone sorcerer for a new upcoming campaign, starting at level 5, and there's just a few things I'm unsure about.
